SummaryThis is a compulsory course for the MSc by Research in Integrative Neuroscience as part of Research Project 1.
Course description This comprises a research proposal for a 3 year plan of work that would be suitable for a PhD project, that builds on or is related to the research you are conducting in your first research project (Jan-April). You work on the research proposal during your research project 1 and submit at the end of this period normally in April. General guidance is provided on how to formulate and prepare a research proposal.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Display knowledge, understanding and awareness of the current state of research in a particular neuroscience research field.
  2. Display skills in formulating a research hypothesis and experimental aims.
  3. Display skills in design of experiments and contemporary methods and techniques in neuroscience research
  4. Display skills in writing a persuasive research proposal for future research.
