100% in course assessment:
40% Asynchronous discussion boards. Student will be asked to post on their own hazard/risk issues in their own workplace/country and encouraged to comment on what it is like to hear the perspectives of other multidisciplinary members (SCQF 11.1 and 11.3)
30% Students will be asked to look at the perception of risk (explaining the difference between Hazard v Risk) from their own discipline and workplace and produce a virtual poster (standard academic poster guidelines with 2 minute explanatory audit) to explain their experience(SCQF 11.4) Pebble Pad online Portfolio tool can be used for this potentially.
30% group work assessment - The assignment will consist of a case study in a specific country with examples of safety lapses in multidisciplinary contexts. Students will be asked to look at the perception of risk (explaining the difference between Hazard v Risk) from their own discipline and other students discipline. Each group will be assigned a case study and are expected to produce a checklist on their perception of risk in the case study via the development of a wiki that will include peer marking via a WebPA (SCQF 11.2, 11.5).

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a critical awareness of the current issues and complexities within healthcare, the magnitude of harm in healthcare, including their features, boundaries, terminology and conventions. Students will gain a critical understanding of the principal theories, concepts and principles at the forefront of the field. (SCQF 11.1)
- Be competent in evaluating and synthesising issues at the forefront of patient harm prevention (SCQF 11.3). They will develop original and creative responses to problems and issues (SCQF 11.3)
- Students will be given a case study of safety lapses in different multidisciplinary contexts and asked to look at the perception of risk (explaining the difference between Hazard v Risk). This will enable students to use a principle professional skill in this area (SCQF 11.2). They will practise in ways which draw on critical reflection on their own and others¿ roles and responsibilities (SCQF 11.5).
- Have practical experience in their own workplace setting of demonstrating leadership and making an identifiable contribution to change and development and new thinking (SCQF 11.5)
