SummaryThis course is designed to enable students to prepare thoroughly for researching, writing and submitting the Sociology Project.
Course description Students will receive guidance on the main components of the project, identifying a suitable area for research, constructing a research proposal, choosing the right methodology and preparing an annotated bibliography/literature review.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. put together a research proposal that is practical and suitable for a particular topic
  2. make justified choices about the kinds of research methods to use
  3. make optimal use of available resources and explore topics through independent study
  4. identify and utilise relevant texts as part of their research
  5. be in a position to proceed to the primary researching and writing-up of their project in Year 4.
