| Summary | Sport is a multi-faceted, dynamic industry of great social, economic and political significance that that comprises everything from local, volunteer-run sports clubs to international organisations, brands and leagues. The issues connected with the sport industry are similarly wide-ranging and management in the sector has become increasingly professionalised as the industry has grown and funding streams have diversified.
This course introduces students to the structure and function of the sport industry and to key management concepts to provide a foundation from which students can develop further knowledge and skills in relation to sport management. |
| Course description |
This course is designed to introduce students to key management concepts and the structure and function of the sports industry in the UK. Students will explore key components of the sport industry including funding, partnerships and delivery of sport as well as the specifics of sports organisations and contemporary issues that impact upon the management of sport.
