Notes:
The expected period of study for the MSc by Research (MRes) programme is 1 year at full-time study. During your studies you will be required you to complete 120 credits of postgraduate taught courses successfully (September to May), before formally progressing onto and then submitting a dissertation worth 60 credits at the end of your studies in August.

Before starting your studies you should submit your course selection to Research Support Office (office.pgr@business-school.ed.ac.uk). Please consult your Supervisor regarding all course choices, as they will be required to approve your selection. The Research Support Office will be in touch with all incoming students on how to select and submit their course selection.

Ratification of course marks, progression to the dissertation element and of the final award will be confirmed by the Business School Postgraduate Board of Examiners.

MSc by Research in Management - Optional Course Selection

Select between 40 and 60 credits of the following courses
AND

Level 11 courses in Schedules A to Q, T and W

Select between 0 and 20 credits from Level 11 courses in Schedules A to Q, T and W
Notes:
You should have a taught course selection of 120 credits plus your dissertation (worth 60 credits).

If you have only chosen 2 courses from the course option list, you can choose the remaining 20 credits from any level 11 (i.e. Postgraduate) course taught at the University of Edinburgh.

Please note that your course selection must be approved by your Supervisory team.
