Year 1 Academic year: 2022/23, Starting in: September

Notes:
Students failing History of Art 1A: Art and Belief in Europe, 500 to 1700 or History of Art 1B: Art at the Crossroads of World Cultures 600 to 1700 will not be allowed to progress to year 2 unless recommended as a special circumstances concession from the Exam Board. Students transferring into Fine Art from another programme with no prior study in History of Art, may with the permission of the UG Director, be allowed to take HA1A, HA1B and HA2A, HA2B concurrently in year 2.

To continue without the need for an extension to the total period of study, a full-time student must attain a minimum of 80 credit points by the end of Year 1. Total credits per year must equal 120.

Students should ensure they have 60 credits in each semester; students wishing to undertake 80/40 split should seek permission of Programme Director

If students are away on exchange in Semester 1 they should take HIAR10170 Analysing Art History Part Two on their return in Semester 2 of Year 3, and should take HIAR10171 Analysing Art History Part One in Sem 1 of Year 4

HIAR10170 is compulsory UNLESS this course was already taken in year 3, in which case students must take HIAR10171 Analysing Art History Part One in Semester 1 this year.
