Before selecting your outside courses, please ensure you have met your Personal Tutor. You must pass 80 credits to progress to year 2. You must pass AH1A and AH1B by the end of year 2. Up to 40 credits may be carried into year 2. Failure of more than 40 credits means you will not progress into year 2 but, depending on the amount of failure, you may be able to repeat year 1 on either a part-time or full-time basis.

To progress into Junior Honours, students must obtain an average of 40% and pass at least 200 credits by the completion of the August examination diet at the end of their second year. These must include Architectural History 1A, Architectural History 1B, and Urbanism and the City, which must be passed before moving into Junior Honours. Architectural History and Heritage in Practice must be passed but may be carried into 3rd year if all other progression requirements have been met.

Year 3 Academic year: 2022/23, Starting in: August

To progress from Junior Honours, to Senior Honours, students must have passed all 240 pre-honours credits (i.e. no credits can be carried into 4th year); they must obtain an average of 40% over the 120 Junior Honours credits and pass at least 80 credits. In that case, the remaining 40 credits will be awarded on aggregate.

Over both honours years, students must take a minimum of 40 self-directed credits [i.e. 4th-year Dissertation] and may take a maximum of 100 credits [Work Placement [40], and Architecture Investigative project [20] (when it is offered)].
