SummaryThis course is designed to teach the student the aetiology, diagnosis and management of the more complex inherited and acquired dental conditions affecting children and adolescents. The later part of the course aims to teach the student the basic principles of orthodontics and the interface between paediatric dentistry and orthodontics in the management of the developing dentition and the growing child.
Course description Dental anomalies affecting the young permanent dentition can leave children with less than ideal aesthetics. The management of such anomalies is usually multidisciplinary. In this course the students learn about such anomalies and their management and how to liaise with colleagues to achieve the best result for their patient. Students will learn the basics underlying orthodontic assessment and treatment planning to enable them to carry out a comprehensive assessment for their patients.
