SummaryThis course will discuss the synthesis, characterisation and application of nanomaterials used in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering.
Course description 1. Introduction and properties of nanomaterials and nanotechnology (Norbert)
2. Characterisation of nanomaterials 1 (TEM, optical spectroscopy, SEM, SRM, STM, AFM, XRD, DLS, and XPS) (Michael)
3. Fabricating nanomaterials (top-down, bottom-up, physical, chemical and biological approaches) (Norbert)
4. Nanomaterials for chemical engineering and chemical engineering of nanomaterials (Norbert/Michael)
5. Nanomaterials for health (drug delivery, bioimaging, sensing, etc.) (Michael)
6. Nanomaterials for energy (battery, catalyst, solar energy, hydrogen generation, etc.) (Norbert)
7. Sustainability, health and environmental aspects of nanomaterials (Norbert/Michael)
