Course description |
The course is composed of five x 1.5 hour lectures: 1) Approaches to Human Cognition, 2) Attention and Executive Functions 3) Memory, 4) Language, 5) Cognition and Emotion.
The online lectures and the weekly 1.5 hour-long in-person lectures will be complemented by recommended readings from the key textbook and journal articles. Students will also be encouraged to contribute to student-led discussions on weekly tutorials to supplement the lectures on the materials provided within the course. Encouragement of peer discussion will support students in deeper critical reflection on the theories presented in the lectures and associated materials.
The course is a core component of the MSc Psychology of Mental Health (Conversion) and is not open to students from other programmes. The course will run in the second teaching block of Semester 2.
