Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Have had the opportunity to develop and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of (i) the tools, strategies and methodologies relevant for economic and/or econometric analysis of the topic addressed in the dissertation (ii) the literature focussed on the topic addressed in the dissertation. Both may include recent research at, or close to, the frontiers of knowledge.
- Have had the opportunity to develop and demonstrate research and investigative skills which include but are not limited to: (i) identifying and framing a research question, (ii) solving/devising appropriate approaches to the investigation of a research question and (iv) the ability and judgement to both (a) assemble and (b) evaluate complex evidence and arguments.
- Have had the opportunity to develop and demonstrate communication skills which include the ability to, (i) critique and (ii) communicate in a clear, succinct and focused manner both (a) knowledge and understanding and (b) research and investigative skills.
- Have had the opportunity to develop and demonstrate personal effectiveness and intellectual autonomy, which include but are not limited to: (i) time-management, (ii) working independently, (iii) proactively engaging with supervision, (iv) task-management, (v) dealing with uncertainty, (vi) adapting to new situations and (vii) making decisions based on students¿ understanding ¿ note items (iv)-(vii) will not be assessed.
- Have had the opportunity to develop and demonstrate practical/technical skills which include but are not limited to: (i) appropriate citation and referencing, (ii) adherence to formatting requirements and (iii) adherence to word- and/or page- limits.
