Year 2 Academic year: 2024/25, Starting in: August

Notes:
Students who have passed courses to the required value of 240 credits, and achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in all required second-year courses for their registered degree, are automatically entitled to progress to honours. Students who are planning on spending their Junior Year Abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their exchange. It is compulsory to have passed 240 credits by June before the JYA in September.

Notes:
Students who have passed courses to the required value of 240 credits, and achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in all required second-year courses for their registered degree, are automatically entitled to progress to honours. Students who are planning on spending their Junior Year Abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their JYA.
Students taking the Year 4 Social Anthropology dissertation must take Imagining Anthropological Research in Year 3 (even if on a year abroad).

In consultation with their Personal Tutor, students are required to choose SIX honours-level elective courses (totaling 120 credits) over the two Honours years, using the following guidance:

-- At least 40 credits of Social Anthropology honours options, one of which must be Social Development.

-- Where possible, students are highly encouraged to take development-related courses in the School of Social and Political Science - OR - in other parts of the University, if there is substantial social science and development content.
