The Sociology Project Preparation 0 credit course is only compulsory for students who are taking the Sociology Project in 4th year.
Students wishing BPS accreditation must ensure that their curriculum follows BPS guidelines. Students who meet the university requirements for graduation, but who fail to meet the BPS accredited degree requirements will be eligible for the award of the unaccredited BSc(Hons) Sociology and Psychological Studies degree. Students who have passed courses to the required value of 240 credits, and:
- achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in Sociology 2a and Sociology 2b
and
- achieved a mean mark of 50% or above in Psychology 2a and Psychology 2b (with a minimum of 40% achieved at first attempt) and a mark of 40% or above in Data Analysis for Psychology in R 2 at the first attempt
are automatically entitled to progress to honours.
Students who are planning on spending their Junior Year Abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their JYA.
