Summary | During their third year abroad while studying for these combined degrees, students will...
EITHER:
1) write two essays under the supervision of a member of the School of History, Classics and Archaeology. One essay will examine a historiographic topic, while the other will be based on primary sources. Materials for both essays will be available online.
OR:
2) Students on the Arabic and History programme who are studying at AUC are permitted to take pre-approved history courses where appropriate exchange is allowed/available |
Course description |
For students who choose the two year abroad essays (worth 40 credit points), these are the only pieces of work that students are expected to do in their third year for History. They will help students develop the analytical skills that they have acquired in the previous two years of study.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate, by way of coursework, an ability to read, analyse and reflect critically upon relevant scholarship;
