This programme is restricted to students registered with the EPSRC CDT in Machine Learning.

The course choice needs to be agreed with the CDT and the Supervisor.
The default course choice is either (a) the 80 point ML systems Project, Machine Learning Practical , Controversies in the Data Society and Machine Learning Systems; or (b) the 60 point ML systems Project, Machine Learning Practical , Controversies in the Data Society and Machine Learning Systems and 20 points of other courses. Very good reason needs to be provided and agreed to deviate from these options.

A minimum of 140 credits need to be taken in Year 1 and Year 2.

The Machine Learning Internship Research and Engagement report is scheduled in Year 3 as we assumed this will coincide with the timing of the internship for most students, however depending on individual circumstances there will be flexibility to change this to Year 2 or 4 as appropriate.

This is the research phase of the PhD. There are no taught for-credit elements in Year 4.
