Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Analyse and critically explore the varieties of medieval romance, and the form¿s chronological development from the twelfth century through to the Renaissance.
- Examine the relationship of romance texts to medieval religious, political, and social ideas.
- Deploy a range of modern theoretical and critical approaches to frame their analyses of romance texts.
- Identify and appraise relevant evidence to construct coherent and persuasive arguments in written discussion.
