| Summary | During the months of June, July and August, candidates for the MSc work on a project on an approved topic and write a dissertation based on this work. The project gives the student the opportunity to apply skills
developed earlier in the programme to real statistics problems. Projects often take the form of a consultancy exercise for a sponsoring organisation. Students will have sourced the project and a supervisor outside the School of Mathematics themselves and submitted a short report on their project for approval. |
| Course description |
An individual written report will be submitted by a given deadline detailing the methods used, results obtained and corresponding interpretation of the results. The students will be able to discuss the problem with their peers; however, all analyses and written reports must be their own independent work.
