| Summary | This core course is for MSc students in their final semester. It is the culmination of previous courses in dementia and research. Students, in discussion with their supervisor, select a relevant topic area and research question.
During the earlier research course the student should prepare their dissertation research proposal and ethics application and may begin data collection.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of research method and methodology
- Demonstrate an appreciation of the research and policy evidence in relation to the experiences of, and the support for, people with dementia.
- Demonstrate a critical underststanding of dementia care practice in different care settings and different international settings
- Demonstrate an awareness, through research, of the impact of changes in practice as dementia progresses.
- Demonstrate the ability to summarise and present their work in different formats
