Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of research methods, study design (experimental and theoretical) and execution.
- Develop knowledge in research governance including ethical approval and standards of Good Clinical Practice.
- Explain and carry out the necessary steps to take biomedical research data from unprocessed data to generating and evaluating biomedical hypotheses, including data handling, processing, statistical analysis, explorative analysis and interpretation.
- Disseminate research findings to publication standard (e.g. case report, literature review)
- Critically appraise publications in terms of study design and data analysis in the field of infectious diseases.
