SummaryThe aim of this course is to teach the student about basic research methodology, statistics and critical appraisal. It also aims to teach the principles of clinical governance and patient safety.
Course description In this module, students are taught the basics of research methodology. This will form the basis of their dissertation. In this course we will also explore clinical governance and patient safety.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Interpret research methodology
  2. Appraise the literature
  3. Apply the basic concepts of statistical analysis
  4. Employ the principles of clinical governance
  5. Identify the legal issues in relation to patient protection and safety

Graduate Attributes and Skills The postgraduate will use initiative and will demonstrate self-motivation whilst developing the ability to be critical with respect to their own performance. The postgraduates will develop their skills in all aspects of Paediatric Dentistry, including diagnosis, treatment planning, clinical skills and all aspects of patient management
