SummaryThe dissertation project involves the completion of a short literature review and preparation of a scientific paper, for which students are expected to carry out study design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation.
Course description The dissertation project involves the completion of a literature review and a scientific paper, for which students are expected to carry out a formal academic study of their chosen topic. Students can choose to carry out an empirical study or systematic literature review. Both of these will include research design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and will be presented in the format of a paper to be published in the appropriate field. The dissertation course is largely self-directed, with support provided by an allocated supervisor.

Feedback Provide high level information on the feedback students will be given (not dates) Students will receive written feedback for each component of the final dissertation, explaining what has been done well, and where there is room for improvement. This feedback will support the student in revising the manuscript for publication, if so desired.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the theories, principles and concepts of AABAW
  2. Plan and execute a significant project of research in AABAW
  3. Critically review, consolidate and extend knowledge, skills and thinking in AABAW
  4. Communicate with peers and colleagues and specialists on a topic in AABAW
  5. Demonstrate substantial autonomy and initiative while taking responsibility for their own work
