SummaryArabic for Professionals is a course designed to develop practical Arabic skills for professional and applied contexts. Building on intermediate proficiency, it equips students to communicate confidently, engage with authentic materials, and apply their language skills across future professional, cultural, and academic settings. The course develops skills for professional and applied contexts while covering all four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Course description Arabic for Professionals is a course designed to develop practical Arabic skills for professional and applied contexts. Building on intermediate proficiency, it helps students communicate confidently, engage with authentic materials, and apply their language skills across future professional, cultural, and academic settings such as education, policy, cultural institutions, NGOs and media.

The course develops all four language skills, through practical exercises, including discussions, work with authentic materials, and activities set in professional and applied contexts. It also promotes transferable skills that support lifelong learning and prepare students to use Arabic effectively in a variety of professional and real-world situations.

  2. Produce clear and coherent written texts in professional and applied contexts, including emails, summaries, and short essays
  3. Communicate effectively in Arabic for professional and applied purposes, including discussions, debates, and real-life scenarios
  4. Follow and understand spoken Arabic in a variety of professional, media, and everyday contexts, identifying main ideas and supporting details
  5. Translate selected texts with a focus on vocabulary, meaning, and style
