| Summary | The course provides students with a critical understanding of quantitative and qualitative research study designs and data analysis techniques. This understanding is then applied and contextualised to programme-specific domains, enabling students to see the applied use of this understanding. |
| Course description |
The course is built around three areas of content: 1. Criticality evaluating and applying research designs in applied settings, 2. Quantitative techniques, 3. Qualitative techniques). The course content will be contextualised to each programme¿s respective, applied domain. Key topics that will be covered include common discipline-specific quantitative and qualitative research designs, bias and rigour in research design, and statistical analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. Content will be delivered in a way that maximises the opportunity for activities and discussions in class time that facilitate student learning and engagement.
