Notes:
Students on our programme must take at least one research course as part of their taught courses across semesters 1 and 2.

In semester 1, students can select Research Methods in Applied Psychology (CLPS11066). This course is a basic introduction to research methods in applied psychology and suits students who have no prior knowledge of psychological research methods or those who want to refresh their knowledge.

We advise that students with recent experience of psychology methods teaching select a more advanced research method option in semester 2 instead. Students can choose up to two 20 credit research methods courses over the duration of the programme.

Collection 2

Select between 40 and 60 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Please note that Social Inequality and Child and Adolescent Mental Health is taught entirely online and you can take a maximum of one 20 credit online course over the duration of the programme.

Note - Semester 1: If you have not chosen Research Methods in Applied Psychology (CLPS11066), then you must choose three courses (60 credits) from this collection or choose two courses (40 credits) from this collection plus an option course from anywhere in the university, provided you have the approval of the Programme Director and Course Organiser. You may take one external course only over the duration of the programme.

Please note that spaces may be limited on course Common Mental Health Presentations (CLPS11087).

Notes:
If you did not take Research Methods in Applied Psychology (CLPS11066) in semester 1, you must take either Inferential Statistics in Applied Psychology (CLPS11073) and/or Applied Qualitative Data Collection and Analysis (SHSS11006) in semester 2. If you select both research methods options in semester 2, you can only select one other option from Collection 3 below.

Notes:
You can take a maximum of one online course over the duration of the programme, thus if you took an online course in semester one, you cannot take another in semester two.

Note - Semester 2: If you have not chosen Inferential Statistics in Applied Psychology (CLPS11073) or Applied Qualitative Data Collection and Analysis (SHSS11006), then you must choose three courses (60 credits) from this collection or choose two courses (40 credits) from this collection plus an option course from anywhere in the university, provided you have the approval of the Programme Director and Course Organiser. You may take one external course only over the duration of the programme.
