| Summary | This course will discuss how maternal and child health services can be effectively managed and monitored in a primary care setting. The course will integrate teaching on MCH with principles and practice of family medicine, evidence-based medicine, quality improvement and professionalism taught in the first year of the programme. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a critical awareness of the current international, national and local strategies to improve maternal and child health.
- Apply a range of principles and professional skills of the family doctor to the assessment, care and management of maternal and child health presentations.
- Develop original and creative responses to maternal and child health issues within their own family practice.
