| Summary | A course aimed at developing research literacy, critical analysis and communication skills. Students formulate a research question and explore a topic of their own choice within a given theme. Topics chosen for SRC Foundation have a strong focus on One Health and should not directly relate to material taught elsewhere in the BVM&S programme.

| Course description |
During the SRCf course you should develop your skills in:
- Formulating a research question appropriate to the SRCf context
- Identifying peer-reviewed sources
- Critically analysing and evaluating information
- Communicating findings in a structured, coherent and engaging format appropriate to the target audience
- Communication between group members
- Time management, as a substantial part of this course involves self-directed learning

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Using SRCf course themes and extending beyond the taught BVM&S curriculum, collaboratively formulate a research question for group work and include evidence of reflection on the initial question at the end of your assignment
- Arrange and present research findings professionally in two formats aimed at different audiences.
- Identify and appraise source references, cite in an academic format and incorporate appropriately into presented material.
- Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication to produce a collaborative research project for assessment
