| Summary | This course enables students to demonstrate the integration of knowledge and skills developed throughout the MSc Design and Digital Media programme. Students define and develop an original individual digital design project, producing a digital artefact and a written dissertation. |
| Course description |
Students are expected to produce a final project that represents the culmination of knowledge and skills gained throughout the programme. The project is carried out as an independent study, with students expected to take full responsibility for managing and progressing their own work. The project spans the full design process, from original research and concept development through to a completed digital artefact, supported by a written dissertation.

Final project submission (100%) at the end of the course; all learning outcomes are addressed.
Within the final project submission, there will be a digital design artefact and a dissertation of approximately 6,000 words. |

There will be periodic supervisory meetings, an unassessed presentation/critique at an interim stage.
Each student will be assigned an individual supervisor, who will monitor progress and offer advice and support, but students are expected to take full responsibility for their own work. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Select and employ appropriate materials, techniques, literature, methods and media for the realisation of the project.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills achieved in the MSc through developing particular applications of digital design.
- Exhibit a good standard of presentation, organisation and academic style.
- Engage in a project in a self-reflective, creative and original manner.
- Develop sklls in integrating and articulating the relationship between theoretical and practical responses to a design context.
