Course options

In addition to courses in Schedules A to T, W and Y, you are permitted to take one or two courses in British Sign Language (LLLO07003/LLLO07004) from Schedule X, subject to availability.

You are permitted a maximum of 40 credits at Level 7 across Years 1 and 2.

You will need to take 120 credits, including:

- 40-80 credits (2-4 courses) of Language Sciences courses, at least one of which must be a 'Foundation' course,
- 40 credits (2 courses) of English Literature Year 3 Option courses, one of which must be taken in each semester, and
- 0-40 credits (0-2 courses) of English Literature Reading Theory courses.

If you are considering a dissertation in Language Sciences in Year 4, you must include a Language Sciences 'Skills' course in your Year 3 course selections. The LEL Honours handbook gives further details about the Language Science courses being offered. Please consult this handbook when selecting your courses.

- Two Language Sciences Honours courses, and
- Two English Literature Year 4 Option courses, one of which must be taken in each semester.
