Advanced Topics in Phonetics: Anatomy & Physiology for Speaking & Hearing (Honours) (U00662)

This course will provide a foundation for understanding normal anatomy, physiology and development of the speech and hearing mechanisms (respiration, phonation, articulation, audition, and neurology).

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : Linguistics 2 (U00577) or equivalent.

? Prohibited combinations : Advanced Topics in Phonetics (LI0049)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Knowledge of anatomical structures and functions involved in speech production and perception, ability to interpret anatomical drawings and physiological records.
