Cases in Financial Management and Policy (BS0059)

? Credit Points : 10  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : MSE-P-BS0059

The course is designed to extend and deepen an understanding of a range of financial management and management policy issues in the areas of corporate strategy with special reference to financial markets. It uses a case study approach and invites student presentations. As the course is case-based each case provides a separate and independent topic area, although the common thread of financial analysis, in part, and corporate policy links them. The overriding element is the requirement to analyse, appraise, evaluate and resolve a critical issue or set of issues in the case. The case method provides a proxy for the kinds of situations managers have to contend with in steering the organisation, and which require choices to be made between alternative courses of action.
