This course aims to familiarise students with new concepts in economics which help managers make better decisions concerning their pricing, advertising, strategic positioning, internal organisation and managerial incentive strategies.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Understand the concepts of marginal analysis and how they can be applied to the analysis of pricing and market developments;
Understand the sources of competitive advantage, how they can be gained and how they can be practically measured;
Understand the factors which cause differences in personal objectives to result in poorer decisions and how such situations might be improved.

The course will be assessed by two equally weighted essays
