Managing Organisations (BS0169)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : MSE-P-BS0169 This course presents students with an alternative perspective to organizations from that usually found on MBA programmes. It takes as its starting point the rational model of organizations that is widely assumed in the literature and examines this concept in greater depth, in different contexts and from different disciplinary perspectives. Through literature and case studies it examines examples of managerial and organizational procedure and practice for the forms of rationality they display and the implications that each has for managerial responsibility and decision-making. Effective student learning in this course requires a high level of student input in preparation of the reading and contribution to discussion.
