The Presentation of the Classical World (CL0108)

For this course one (or more) group(s) of students work to present an exhibiton on a theme relevant to the classical world on a specific day. The group determines the subject of the display and the means to present it to the general public and fellow students.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : A Pass in Classical Archaeology 1, or Classical Art 2, or Classical Art 2A & 2B.

? Special Arrangements for Entry : In order for a student from outwith Classics to be enrolled on this course, contact must be made with a Course Secretary on 50 3580 in order for approval to be obtained.

? Costs : Any expenditure above budget allowed for exhibition.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

This course aims to provide:-
- experience in working as a group, to a deadline and within a budget;
- experience of chairing meetings and writing minutes;
- practice at researching a specific topic in the classical world;
- the chance to exercise ingenuity and practical skills.

Assessment Information

Each group's exhibition is awarded a mark (50%);
each student's individual participation is also awarded a mark (50%).
