Technology, People and the Environment: Technology Education for Sustainability (ED0421)

This module is intended to help teachers implement the 5-14 environmental studies technology component, particularly 'understanding and using technology in society' and 'developing informed attitudes'. The following teaching and learning features are explored: consider the appropriateness of technology to people and the environment; views technology as an intrinsic part of all cultures, past and present; are cross curricular; explore values in technology; encourage pupils to be reflective and creative, to question, to recognise and value their potential for action, to develop good communication skills and to have a commitment to sustainability and justice.
