Acronym : EDU-1-SpSciB This course will accommodate two perspectives, knowledge and understanding of which underpins human physical activity. This programme will incorporate study of the classical Newtonian Laws with illustrative sporting examples and the basic mechanics that underpin the movement of humans and inanimate objects. This will be coupled with the study of Sports Psychology through consideration of various fundemental constructs which impact on sport and/or exercise participation and performance. The content will provde basic overviews, pertinent topics such as motivation, anxiety/arousal, group factors and attitudes. This element aims to provide students with an appreciation of the broad and inter-linked influences which psychological factors may have in sport and exercise settings. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Understand Newton's laws of motion and appreciate their application to sport;
