This module provides an introduction to the process and methodology of professional development pursued through the Advanced Professional Studies programme. It provides the opportunity to analyse the concept of professionalism and to consider a number of approaches to professional development and practice-based enquiry. During the module, the process of professional self-appraisal and reflection begins, which will be sustained throughout the programme of study. At the end of the module, the student will have drawn up an action plan and targets for their professional development within the Modular Masters Scheme. This module should nornally be taken first in a programme of study.
