Curriculum and Assessment in Deaf Education (ED1079)

Deaf pupils and students face a range of barriers to full access of curriculum and assessment. This module explores the nature of these barriers and they might be overcome. The module will include discussion of systemic issues, as well as practical strategies for facilitating access. It will also explore critically some of the traditional means of modifying the curriculum for deaf pupils. This module is part of the MEd/PGD in Educational Support (Deaf Education) and will normally be taken as the sixth module within this programme. Participants will normally have already undertaken: Deaf Studies, Interpersonal Skills, Social Justice and Inclusion, Audiology and Language and Communication.
