With the increased interest in young people's Physical Education, Sport and Health, many political, professional and academic issues are constantly emerging. This module will present, and critically reflect upon, a range of these contemporary issues from two perspectives. First, issues pertinent to each individual sector i.e. Physical Education, Sport and Health, and, second, interrelated or integrated issues that directly influence the field of study as a whole e.g. gender. There are no preconditions for entry to this module. Students would normally undertake the module towards the end of the first part of the Physical Education and Youth Sport pathway.
