The Application of the Counselling Approach (ED1140)

The aims of this module are: 1) to explore the application of the theories, concepts, attitudes, values and practices embodied in the person-centred and psychodynamic perspectives in counselling in a variety of non-counselling roles and relationships; 2) to examine the interplay between individual helping relationships, groups and organisational contexts; 3) to enable course members to apply their deepening awareness of self, others and organisational structure to their own roles, tasks and relationships; 4) to examine critically the limits of the application of the counselling approach. This module can only be taken after completion of the Introduction to Counselling and the Counselling Approach and the Self and Others modules. Students may take only one counselling module per academic term. This module costs an additional 75 pounds.
