Supporting Literacy in Deaf Pupils (ED1151)

? Credit Points : 15  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : EDU-P-ED1151

Deaf people have faced substantial barriers to acquiring spoken-language based literacy in the past. This module will focus on ways of supporting deaf people to achieve literacy. It will also recognise and explore the notion of 'sign literacy' and examine how both types of literacy can be mutually supportive. This is an optional module within the PG Diploma in Learning Support (Deaf Education). Normally at least 5 modules would be completed before taking this module.
