Literature and Culture in Medieval Europe (FR0062)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 8 ? Acronym : LLC-2-FR0062 To introduce students to important topics in the culture of Europe in the twelfth to fifteenth centuries, using literary texts read in English translation. The course is primarily intended for second-level students of Modern European Languages but is also open to other students, numbers permitting. There are no formal entry requirements. To equip students with an ability to read with confidence literary forms and codes from a distant period and compare cultural artifacts from different kinds of societies. To relate cultural production to the background society and traditions from which they have sprung.
