Italian 1 (IT0001)

Tuition in written and spoken Italian. Study of contemporary Italy; modern history, culture and literature. Language classes are streamed according to competence in Italian (from beginners to post-'A' level). Considerable private study is required in order to profit from this intensive course. The numbers admitted to this course are limited.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : A pass in at least one classical or modern foreign language at SCE Higher or Advanced GCE or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Introduction to various aspects of cultural expression in Italy in the twentieth century.

Thorough grounding in both written and spoken language, equally intensive for both complete beginners and post A-level students.

Assessment Information

Continuous assessment plus examination. No exemption available.
