Italian Literature: Texts in Context 2 (IT0039)

An introduction to the critical study of literature, and to the interplay between historical contexts and cultural expression.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : A pass in Italian 1.

? Co-requisites : This is a core course and must be taken in conjunction with Italian Language 2h (IT0028).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will learn how to adopt a critical approach to literature assessing the relationship between history and aspects of cultural expression.

On completing the course, students should be familiar with a selection of literary texts from the Middle Ages to WW2.

Assessment Information

2 essays. Class work 40%. Degree exam 60%. No exemption.
