Introduction to European Cinema 2 (LC0001)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 8 ? Acronym : LLC-2-LC0001 This half-course will give students a historical and theoretical introduction to the study of film and cinema. It will present the development of film in Europe from its beginnings to the present, together with an introduction to the spectrum of critical reaction and aesthetic evaluation that has accompanied the medium throughout its existence. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : The course is aimed primarily at second year students of Modern European Languages but may, numbers permitting, also be open to other students. Coursework and exam. 2 essays each 1500 words (1 in Semester 1 and 1 in Semester 2) contributing 50%; 1 degree exam in June contributing 50%.
