Law of Business Organisations (LW0001)

To provide knowledge and understanding of the law relating to agency and of business organisations such as companies, partnerships and limited liability partnerships, together with the law of intellectual property; to enable students to identify and resolve legal issues in practice; and to develop problem-solving skills using the knowledge and understanding thus acquired.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

After completing this course students will:

be familiar with and be able to compare the principles and concepts relating to each business medium, and to be able to identify the most appropriate business medium for a variety of operations;

have knowledge and a reasonable understanding of the content and principles of the law relating to employment and intellectual property;

Assessment Information

Continuous, by means of written answers to five hypothetical problems; only the best four to count. Each of the best four is worth 25% of the final mark.
