Strategic Human Resources and the New Economics of Personnel (MG0002)

? Credit Points : 10  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : MSE-P-MG0002

As a course in a general management MBA, our purpose is not to get into the technical details of issues that are primarily relevant for those intending to be human resource professionals, such as the psychometric aspects of test validation, the specifics of job evaluation methods, the mechanics of interviewing, or the intricacies of employment law. These important details are left to other courses. Rather, the course adopts the perspective of a general manager or a could-be entrepreneur and addresses personnel and human resource topics from a strategic perspective, considering how human resource management might aid in developing competitive advantage and what might be done to fulfil this potential.
