Master of Teaching Dissertation (Small Project 2) (P00126)

? Credit Points : 30  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : EDU-P-P00126

In the final stage of the Master of Teaching programme candidates will undertake one four module equivalent or two two-module equivalent work based projects. Whichever choice is made the combined four module activity constitutes the final project. The national guidelines require that the last piece of work undertaken in the programme is such a project.

The purpose of the final project is three fold:
to provide an opportunity for the critical evaluation and development of extended professional action
to enable the integration of elements of the Standard within coherently planned work based projects
to facilitate self evaluation and the accumulation of final evidence against the Standard

A four module project allows for the planned professional actions to be implemented evaluated and subsequently developed and tested in the light of further action. As an alternative two two module projects may be undertaken. This would allow for actions to be focussed on separate aspects of the Standard if required. Where two module projects are chosen, the two projects will be completed within the final project.

Completion of the four module work based learning project involves 600 hours of notional effort and will normally take twenty four months. Where two projects are undertaken, each should involve a notional effort of 300 hours
