Early Farmers of Cyprus and the Near East (P00139)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : HCA-P-P00139 The course deals with evidence for the early stages of sedentary societies on the Levantine mainland, the beginnings of human settlement on Cyprus, and early relations between the two regions. Specific issues are addressed which are fundamental to an understanding of the development of society: early human exploration and colonisation of new lands, the spread of sedentism and farming, the roles of migration and adaptation as influential in social and demographic change, and forms of social complexity in small scale societies.
