2. Demonstrate the ability to apply these principles in a stated situation;
3. Show an awareness of foreign language management in different contexts, through analysis of research, case studies and educational institutions and systems, as a basis for comparison;
4. Discuss and demonstrate understanding of principal TESOL management issues currently being debated;

Assessment Information

Course participants will demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the issues raised in this module by writing an assignment equivalent to 5,000-7,000 words. EITHER: (a) identify a major area for the development of TESOL/ELT resources (e.g. self-access centre, a teacher resource centre, CALL etc) in a context with which you are familiar. Prepare a discussion document that you could use to persuade a higher authority to introduce this resource. In your introduction outline the choices available and justify your particular choices, and reflect on the processes of preparing the document. OR prepare an analysis of a context with which you are familiar, and outline the current situation in management terms. Project where you would like to be in five years time, and outline the appropriate measures the institution would need to take in order to reach this goal. Identify the choices available and justify your particular choices, and reflect on the processes of preparing the document.
