Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this course the student will have gained understanding of the basic issues in second language acquisition (SLA) including:
- Implicit vs. explicit learning in SLA - The roles of input, frequency and attention in SLA - The role of language universals in SLA - Second language processing - The initial state and end state of second language grammar Students will also have gained experience in analysing learner data using the concepts and models taught in the course.
